The Aiken Horse
From the Editor

Before anything else, I would like to thank everyone in the equestrian community for the tremendously warm reception that they gave the first issue of The Aiken Horse. We knew when we started this project that there was a real thirst in Aiken’s horse world for a paper like ours. What we didn’t know was that so many people from other parts of the country would also want to read it. The first issue of The Aiken Horse has made it to at least 15 states, and we have received dozens of subscription checks. Pretty good for a little free paper!
Which brings me to the second point. The paper isn’t quite so little anymore. In fact, it is double the size of the first issue. Because of printing logistics, we even had to go to two sections. In the first section, you will read about three-day eventing, racing, steeplechasing and foxhunting. The second section is devoted to cutting, reining, dressage and real estate. Of course, there also will be results from this fall’s polo tournaments, horse trails and the Katydid Combined Driving Event. So, happy reading, happy December, happy holidays. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call or drop us an e-mail if there is something we should be covering. Enjoy your horses!
